Studying abroad is the best thing I ever did. I know it's so cliche and overdone to rave about an experience in another country, but truthfully, my life would not be the same (and I imagine it would even be a bit dismal) if I hadn't taken a leap of faith and spent a year abroad in another country. I met my husband studying abroad, I learned to travel for cheap, and I experienced the world through a totally new lens, changing my perspective on dang-near everything. It's my #2 best decision in my life–after marrying my husband, of course.

That said, if someone ever criticized or tried to derail my decision to go abroad in college, I'd tell them right where to shove it.

This woman had spent her entire life saving up for one specific goal: Studying abroad in college. With standard collegiate pricing to consider and a couple of side jobs on the back burner, this young woman, a determined 20-year-old, had reached her goal and excitedly started shopping around for study abroad programs. However, her glee was short-lived after her demanding older cousin, a new mom, decided to guilt trip her into crowd-funding her accidental baby.
It seems that the 'family helps family' crowd always seems to be the ones benefiting from everyone else's sacrifices. Well, this travel-minded young lady decided to put her foot down, refusing to forego her study abroad dreams by donating her entire savings account to her entitled cousin.
